Lighthouse District Eagle Boards – New Year Changes.
So what is new and what has not changed?
All Eagle Applications still go to the Registrar at the Council Service Center for review and approval before a Board can be scheduled. Only applications submitted by the first Monday of the month will be considered for a board on the third Monday of the month. No change here. If your application is correct and accepted by Friday of the first week, expect a call to schedule your board.
Change # 1: For Eagle Boards; No projects or packages are to go to the Council Service Center . Only your original Eagle Scout application goes to the service center for approval. You will be bringing everything else with you to your Board of Review except your approved original application.
Change # 2. Project review boards are scheduled directly through me. These requests will be accepted through the first Monday of the month. To request a board please call me, Glenn Alexander at 561-575-2489 or email me at email@example.com . Leave a message with your name, telephone number and Unit (Troop) #.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience. I'm sure we'll have some opportunities for improvement so work with me. Any questions or problems feel free to contact me directly.

The magic of Eagle Scout
We hear many stories about the "magic" of being Eagle Scout. We don't always get the chance to live the story and be part of the magic. But recently, one of our Eagle scouts experienced the "Eagle Magic" for himself.
Kyle who was recently awarded Eagle Scout, went to the mall looking for his very first job. He did not have any work experience to speak of, but included the rank of Eagle Scout on his scouting application. He placed his first application in with a company known as Electronic Boutique. The assistant manager looked over the application and requested that he return the next day at 3pm to speak with the manager.
Kyle reported in an orderly fashion and met with the manager. The manager pulled out the application and explained to Kyle that there were two things he never did. One was to interview someone on the spot. Usually there was a lengthy process that was performed prior to meeting with a potential hiree. The other was to hire someone on the spot. Yes, Kyle was hired immediately. The manager pointed out to Kyle why he went against everything that he practiced as a manager. He pointed to Kyle's Eagle Scout rank that was mentioned on the application. It was because of Kyle's committment to work hard and achieve the rank of Eagle, that he was being hired on the spot.
Thus the recognition of Eagle and the "magic" of the Eagle lives on. Let's hear about your Eagle magic story.
